Zaynab bint Khuzaymah رضي الله عنها
A Home for a Martyr's Widow
After she was widowed, the Prophet ﷺ married her, in the third or fourth year after the Hijrah. In those years the battles had left many widows in Madinah, and his marriage to her honoured the family of a martyr and gave a home to a woman who had spent herself on others.
So the Mother of the Poor became one of the Mothers of the Believers.
The community owes a debt to the families of those who gave their lives, and the Prophet ﷺ paid it in person.
Who in your community has lost the person who provided for them, and what could you do for them?
